AVL Manufacturing, headquartered in Hamilton, Ontario, is making a major leap into the United States with its first-ever U.S. production plant in Charlotte, North Carolina. This milestone comes as AVL aims to strengthen its presence in the growing North American market for industrial power solutions.
After evaluating multiple locations, AVL chose the Steele Creek area in southwest Charlotte for its strategic benefits:
Prime Location: A 232,000 sq ft facility at 13006 Sam Neely Road, positioning AVL close to major logistics hubs and within a burgeoning tech corridor
Strong Workforce & Infrastructure: North Carolina is recognized for its manufacturing workforce and community college system—ideal for AVL’s operational needs
Local Support & Incentives: The project gained backing from Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, the state, and EDPNC, alongside a performance-based $100,000 grant from the One NC Fund for creating 122 qualifying jobs
